The Used - great band, but in bad venue
"My fifth time seeing Bert. Overall a rough pit with a great mix of old and new songs. Quinn, Jepha, and Dan are fantastic entertainers and Bert is, well, Bert. He sings well and is very entertaining but some parents may not want their younger kids to see the overt comments he makes or hear the crude drinking onstage. I took a 16 year old and had no problems with it but more conservative parents take note. Also, Bert demanded the crowd do the wall of death and mosh so if you don't like that sort of thing stay out of the pit. Peter Bjorn And John opened with a great short film that you just have to see to believe. Bert was as always the focal point of the band, but Jepha, Quinn, and Dan did not do anything other than play (and drink a little) and seemed a little subdued compared with previous shows. Other than playing music and the short film, the only entertainment was listening to Bert and watching him drink. Bert is great, but I've seen them pull people onstage to dance (to Paralyzed) and put oddball props onstage (anyone remember the lifesize politician cutouts they put on stage in 2008??) and they did not do any of that, so don't expect those sorts of things. However Bert does want the audience to sing with him a lot and holds the microphone out over the crowd frequently so if you just want to go and sing along with Peter Bjorn And John you will have a great time.
The House of Blues in Orlando is in Downtown Disney so traffic and parking were a nightmare. This is not a good place to see a show. It was packed with people, and there are thick wood columns holding up the second floor that would block your view. They did have TV monitors up for people in the back of the room but the quality of the images was terrible. Because of the traffic, we did not get there in time to see Drive A but did see all of The Almost; OK band but not very exciting and nothing novel about their stage presence or songs. If you see a show at the House of Blues Orlando allow plenty of time for fighting traffic and finding parking."

Having been fans of Peter Bjorn And John for a long time, my husband and I were excited for the concert. We had been looking forward to it for weeks, and Alanis could not have been more wonderful. She captured our attention immediately, and the tone of the concert remained positive and energetic, yet low-key and pleasant. I particularly enjoyed her demeanor, which made it feel like she was an old friend. Addressing the audience as a trusted, intimate friend rather than a distant star, she welcomed us into a special space where she shared interesting details about herself and her songs, relating to us all. The acoustic nature of the concert was lovely, and all the songs were played well and unique. Alanis's sense of humor and playfulness complemented the atmosphere perfectly. Thumbs up!
